Jumbangla Desk: RAB said that they will be arrested if they get information about Awami League general secretary, former road transport and bridge minister Obaidul Quader, member of the presidium of the party Jahangir Kabir Nanak and former additional commissioner (DB) of DMP Harun Or Rashid.

Lt. Col. Munim Ferdous, director of RAB's legal and media wing, said this in response to a question from journalists at a press conference organized at RAB Media Center in the capital's Karwan Bazar on Sunday (October 6).

Asked why RAB is still not able to arrest controversial people like Obaidul Quader, Jahangir Kabir Nanak and Haroon Or Rashid, he said, "We are working on them." Arrest will be made if information is received.

When asked about RAB's role in arresting those involved in the massacre in the anti-discrimination student movement, Lieutenant Colonel Munim Ferdous said that RAB has arrested 1,700 people so far after the anti-discrimination student movement on August 5. Among them, 39 high-level people of the previous government. Besides, 15 people have been arrested in the incident of firing on the students with weapons. Whose videos spread through social media.

Munim Ferdous also said that RAB has arrested many high-ranking political leaders. Besides, huge arms and ammunition have been recovered. If anyone gets any information then give it to RAB and action will be taken. RAB is always on the side of common man.

More than 90 police officers are accused. When asked whether any member of RAB has been made an accused or not, Lieutenant Colonel Munim Ferdous said that no member of RAB has escaped. Even in other forces, no member of RAB went on strike.

RAB did not use bullets on students: Munim Ferdous

He said, RAB members come from eight forces. About 44 percent of RAB's 10,000 members come from the police force. But there was no problem in RAB. RAB never used lethal weapons on students. The RAB was with the student movement and was working to make the coup a success.
