Eid weather: Areas where rain is likely

The holy Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7. The

weather will be dry and comfortable

in most parts of the country, but rain may occur in some areas of Chittagong, Mymensingh and Sylhet.

This information was provided in the forecast released by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Thursday (June 7).


Meteorologist Dr. Md.Omar Faruk

has said in a press release that the weather on Eid day may witness light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds at one or two places in Chittagong, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions from 9 am in the next 24 hours. The sky will be partly cloudy in other parts of the country on the day, but the weather will remain mainly dry.


The forecast also states that day and night temperatures may increase slightly across the country on Eid. As a result, although the atmosphere may be somewhat comfortable in the early morning, it may feel hot as the day progresses.


Light to moderate rain or thundershowers

with gusty winds are likely to occur at one or two places in Chittagong and Sylhet divisions from 9 am on Sunday (June 8), the day after Eid, in the next 24 hours. In addition, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry with partly cloudy skies in other parts of the country. Day and night temperatures are likely to remain almost unchanged across the country.
