‘হাদীস শরীফে বর্ণিত হয়েছে যে, নিম্নলিখিত দশ প্রকার লোকের দেহ কবরে পচবে না: ১- পয়গম্বর, ২-শহীদ, ৩- আলেম, ৪- গাজী, ৫- কুরআনের হাফেয, ৬- মোয়ায্যিন, ৭- সুবিচারক বাদশাহ বা সরদার, ৮-সূতিকা রোগে মৃত রমণী, ৯-বিনা অপরাধে যে নিহত হয়, ১০-শুক্রবারে যার মৃত্যু হয়।’’[1]

এদের অনেককেই হাদীসে শহীদ বলা হয়েছে। তবে একমাত্র নবীগণ বা পয়গম্বরগণের দেহ মাটিতে পচবে না বলে সহীহ হাদীসে বর্ণিত হয়েছে। অন্য নয় প্রকারের মৃতগণের মৃতদেহ না পচার বিষয়ে কোনো হাদীস আছে বলে আমি সাধ্যমত চেষ্টা করেও জানতে পারি নি। আল্লাহই ভাল জানেন।
