বুড়ি যখন বাড়িতে পৌঁছল ততক্ষণে বেলা পড়ে গেছে। সকলে তার দেরি হওয়ার কারণ জিজ্ঞেস করল। বুড়ি তখন খুলে বলল সব। মুহাম্মাদ নামের যে লোকটা নিজ বাপ-দাদার ধর্ম ত্যাগ করেছে দুইজন লোক আমাকে তার কাছে নিয়ে গেল। তারপর ঘটল আজব এ ঘটনা। সকলে তো শুনে তাজ্জব!
বুড়ি বলল, আল্লাহর কসম! আমার সব দেখে মনে হয়েছে, সে হয়ত পৃথিবীর সবচেয়ে বড় যাদুকর অথবা সত্যই সে আল্লাহর প্রেরিত রাসূল।
এরপর থেকে মুসলিমরা ঐ বৃদ্ধার এলাকার আশপাশের এলাকায় অভিযান চালাতো কিন্তু বুড়ির এলাকায় আক্রমণ করত না।
এ দেখে বুড়ি নিজ কওমকে বলল, আমার মনে হচ্ছে, তারা ইচ্ছাকৃতভাবেই তোমাদের এড়িয়ে যাচ্ছে; তোমাদের উপর আক্রমণ করছে না। তোমরা ভেবে দেখ, ইসলাম গ্রহণ করবে কি না। তার কথায় সবাই রাজি হয়ে গেল এবং ইসলামের ছায়াতলে আশ্রয় নিল।
