Ban on emigration of Durjoy with his wife

Sports Desk: The court has banned former captain of Bangladesh cricket team and former MP of Manikganj-1 Naimur Rahman Durjoy and his wife Farhana Rahman from leaving the country.

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Assam Jaglul Hossain gave this order in view of ACC's application on Thursday.

ACC Assistant Director (Prosecution General) Aminul Islam confirmed this information.

On this day, the ACC applied for a ban on their departure.

It is said in the application that the allegation against Naimur Rahman Durjoy of abuse of power, various irregularities and corruption including embezzlement of government money in his own name and in the name of his family members to acquire wealth outside the known income is currently under investigation.

The investigation is vital to preventing money laundering in the interest of the state. During investigation, confidential sources revealed that the accused persons are trying to flee abroad. If they flee abroad, the search operation is likely to be prolonged or disrupted.
