The accident happened on Wednesday (October 2) around 10:30 pm. The police could not immediately reveal the identity of the deceased.

Nandalal Roy, Inspector (Investigation) of Basan Police Station of Gazipur Metropolitan Police said, a Balaka Paribahan bus was going from Dhaka to Gazipur at night. As soon as the bus reached Basan road area of ​​Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, an unidentified youth was crushed and he was killed on the spot. Then the agitated mob set fire to three buses of Balaka Transport. The locals may have taken away the dead body before the police arrived. We reached the spot and found no body, no one can say where the body was taken.

Deputy Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Service. Abdullah Al Arefin said, a worker was killed by the bus of Balaka Transport. After this incident, the bus was set on fire by the excited crowd. On receiving the information, the fire service team left for the spot.
