Jumbangla Desk: The High Court has ordered the construction of martyr memorials and libraries at 8 places in memory of those killed in the anti-discrimination student movement. The court ordered the construction of libraries along with these memorials at Jatrabari-Shani Akhra, Uttara, Mirpur-10 Gol Chatwar, ECB Chatwar, Badda-Rampura, Chankhanarpul, Mohammadpur and Rangpur at the place of martyrdom of Abu Sayeed in the capital.

8 places to commemorate the dead

A High Court division bench comprising of Justice Atwar Rahman and Justice AKM Zahirul Haque ordered the construction of martyrs' memorials and libraries at eight places in memory of those killed in the anti-discrimination student-public movement from July 1 to August 5. Apart from this, it has been ordered to prepare the list of martyrs in the student movement and arrange treatment for the injured in the country and abroad according to their needs.

It is also directed to inform the court about the progress of implementation of this order every four months.

The High Court passed this order after hearing a writ petition filed by Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Ashraful Islam. Barrister Ashraful Islam made the writ for the list of martyrs and injured of 'July 36' coup in public interest, treatment and construction of monument.


Barrister Ashraful Islam told reporters, 'After the hearing, the court issued a ruling.

At the same time, he issued orders to prepare the list of martyrs on July-36 and informed the court every four months after taking treatment measures for the injured in the country and abroad.
