Since last month, Hezbollah and Israel's counter-attacks have intensified more than ever before. The UN says more than 1 million people have been forced to flee their homes in the ongoing war between the Israeli military and Hezbollah.

In such a climate, India stands by the war-torn Lebanon. New Delhi has sent 11 tonnes of medicines to the country as an emergency aid. Indian media NDTV reported this news in a report.

On Friday (October 18), the spokesperson of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, wrote on X Handle, 'India has sent relief to Lebanon. In all, 33 tons of medicines are being sent. For the first time, 11 tons of medicines were sent.

Israel started indiscriminate attacks on Gaza after announcing the elimination of the Palestinian independence group Hamas from October last year. In solidarity with Hamas and the Palestinians, the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group started firing rockets at the northern part of Israel.

Israel claims it is carrying out "limited, localized and targeted searches" to destroy Hezbollah's weapons and infrastructure. But the targets of Israeli operations are civilians.

Earlier, after the death of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrullah, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and reiterated India's stand against terrorism. He urged Netanyahu to curb regional tensions. Unwavering support for Israel on the one hand, and sending emergency aid to Lebanon on the other. It can be said that New Delhi is going to protect two roots.
