Anti-government propaganda on Facebook, a. 9 leaders and activists of the League arrested

The police conducted a special operation in Bhanga and arrested 9 Awami League leaders and activists. Six people were arrested on Saturday night and three on Friday night. Six people were sent to jail on Sunday afternoon and three people on Saturday afternoon.

Those arrested on Saturday night are Mir Mosharraf Hossain, president of Awami League of Nurullaganj Union of Upazila, vice-president of Ward No. 6 of Bhanga Municipality and former commissioner Md. Liaquat Molla, health affairs secretary of Municipal Amlig Mojibur Rahman, Municipal Awami League worker. Elias Sheikh, Md. Babul Sheikh and Md. Sohail Mollah.

Those arrested on Friday night are - Upazila Awami League's former organizational secretary. Razzak Fakir and Municipal Awami League Organizing Secretary Noor Mohammad and Algi Union Chhatra League President Md. Jewel Mollah.

OC Mohammad Moksedur Rahman of Bhanga police station said that they were arrested by raiding the upazila and municipal areas based on secret information. In the last two days, 9 leaders and workers of Awami League have been arrested in raids from different areas of the upazila. The accused are accused of attacking students during the quota reform movement. Besides, the accused were carrying out various conspiracies and propaganda against the present government. Some were spreading various anti-government propaganda on their Facebook. There are specific allegations against them. They were sent to jail on Saturday and Sunday.
