Today Saturday (October 26) on the occasion of Rangpur Metropolitan Police's founding anniversary, Police Commissioner Md. Majid Ali.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) today on the occasion of the anniversary. He said that Moinul Islam and other senior officials will meet the families of the deceased Abu Saeed and the martyrs of July-August.

A police source said that none of the top officials who were present at the time of Abu Sayeed's murder are now in Rangpur.

Asif Al Mateen, professor of English Department of Begum Rokeya University, said, 'The complaints raised against the police are not what the police should do. If they had behaved professionally this would never have happened. Not only students and teachers, but all levels of people should be treated professionally. It should be done all the time. Then their image will be saved.'

President Fakhrul Anam Benju, president of Sujan Rangpur Metropolitan Committee, said, 'Police was born during the great liberation war. At that time they resisted the Pakistani forces by committing suicide. The tradition of the police force using party influence and interests has damaged the image of the agency. In order to protect this image of the police, the policy needs to be reformed first. Purity is needed to increase morale. People friendly and democratic police system is needed. Only then can the police come out of the image organization and become a people-oriented organization.'

Rangpur Police Commissioner. Majid Ali said, "In the case of Abu Saeed, the image has definitely been damaged a little." We are sitting with the families of those who were martyred in July-August so that we can protect it and improve it. IGP Sir will sit with them and talk to them.'

He also said, ' We are working against the discrimination for which they were martyred . The police are working.
