Jumbangla Desk: Crores of taka including foreign currency have been seized from the residence of Mohammad Amjad Hossain, former additional secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives in Uttara of the capital. On Sunday (November 4) night, in the operation of the joint forces, 1 crore and 9 lakh rupees in cash, several foreign currencies, 11 iPhones and valuable watches of the brand were seized.

A raid was conducted at house number 33 of Uttara-11 sector of the capital on Sunday night. The operation started at 10 pm based on secret information. Four hours later, the former additional secretary was arrested along with his son.


In 2020, Amjad Hossain Khan retired as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development and Cooperatives. His village home is in Gazipur Sadar. The police said that the case against them is under process.
