Jumbangla Desk: The Kotwali police station of DMP has arrested Tapu Nandi, the president of Ward No. 36 of Kotwali, who is accused of the attack on the anti-discrimination student movement from Kotwali police station area of the capital.
On Wednesday (November 6) night, he was arrested in Tantibazar area of Kotwali.
According to Kotwali police station sources, the arrested Tapu Nandi is the named accused in a case filed at Kotwali police station in connection with the attack on the students during the anti-discrimination movement. On August 5, the victim Md. Sujan participated in a movement to overthrow the government in Nawab Sirajddaula Jindabahar Park area of Kotwali Police Station along with students. At that time, the leaders and activists of various organizations of Awami League armed themselves with weapons and started to attack and shoot at the agitators. The victim Sujan and many others were injured in this incident. Sujan filed a case on 03 November 2024 at Kotwali police station as plaintiff.
According to police sources, Tapu Nandi, the named accused of the case, was arrested after conducting a raid in Tantibazar area of Kotwali with the help of intelligence and technology in the case under investigation.
In the case of Kotwali police station, the arrested has been sent to the learned court.
