Donald Trump has been elected as the 47th President of the United States. The world's most powerful country has started to dream of sitting in the chair of power again after Trump, his friendly country leaders who lost power. And one of that party is Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan.
On behalf of PTI chief Imran Khan, party leader Ali Muhammad Khan congratulated Trump on his re-election as US president. He also expressed optimism that this return can reduce the negativity towards Pakistan. That intensified under the Biden administration.
Speaking on Geo News' program 'Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Ke Saath' on Wednesday, Ali said Trump's victory was communicated to the imprisoned founder of the party. He himself mentioned the positive relationship he had with Trump during his time as Prime Minister.
Earlier, Imran Khan was ousted in April 2022 after Joe Biden came to power after Trump. At the time, he was complaining of US interference for losing his power. Said, 'Under the Biden administration, there was interference in Pakistan's internal affairs; There was negativity.'
In this situation, Trump's return is convenient for Imran's political position, Ali said. It (Trump's election as president) could reduce political and diplomatic challenges, he said. It will definitely have an impact. This is a good point. If some positive people come to power with whom we have good relations.'
Foreigners who campaigned for Khan Sahib's release also believe that once Trump is in power, it will make things easier for Imran or at least reduce the negativity under the Biden administration.
Meanwhile, speaking during Geo News' special transmission on the US elections, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said, 'We don't think Trump will call for PTI founder's release. Let's wait 15 to 20 days and see what position he takes.' Now we are waiting to see what position Trump takes on the Imran Khan issue after coming to power.
