The advisor said, "We hope that the Foreign Minister of Portugal has assured that an embassy, ​​consulate or an office related to Portuguese visas will be opened in Dhaka by the beginning of next year."

The 10th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Global Forum meeting is being held from Saturday (November 30) in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. Bangladesh is represented in this conference by foreign advisor Md. Touhid Hossain.

The adviser gave a welcome speech at the exchange meeting chaired by the Ambassador of Lisbon Embassy, ​​Regina Ahmed. Later he answered various questions of expatriates in an open discussion.


The issue of setting up a permanent or temporary embassy or consulate of Portugal in Bangladesh received more importance in the exchange meeting. About 40,000 expatriate Bangladeshis are currently living in Portugal, but since there is no embassy or consulate of Portugal in Bangladesh, the expatriate Bangladeshis have to suffer various harassments. All the demands of the adviser were that a BFS or embassy should be opened in Dhaka, Bangladesh for Bangladeshis as soon as possible.

The foreign advisor of expatriate Bangladeshis living in Portugal said that there was a meeting with the Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel. Along with that, he drew the attention of Paolo Rangel on various issues including visa complications of Bangladeshis.
