'Tandav' . After the first look of the movie was released,
there were calls for a boycott on Indian social media. The movie stars two popular Bangladeshi stars Shakib Khan and Jaya Ahsan in the lead roles.
Controversy at first glance
SVF is one of the producers of the film . After the teaser was released, several Indian social media users commented, "In the current political situation in India and Bangladesh, we will not watch any film starring a star from that country if it is released in India. Rather, it would be better if the film was released in a Kolkata cinema."
'Tandava' after 'Toofan'
Shakib Khan and Raihan Rafi have previously worked together in the film 'Toofan' , which received a good response. As a result, the excitement among Shakib fans about 'Tandav' was high. The film is scheduled to be released on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha 2025 , i.e. in early June.
Shakib's position in the Indian market
Shakib Khan came to India to promote 'Toofan' during its release. At that time, Mimi Chakraborty was with him. Although the songs of the film were popular in India, the audience did not go to the cinema to watch the film. Before that, Shakib's last five films, including 'Priyatama' , did not make much of an impact in India.
Jaya Ahsan and other Bangladeshi stars' trip to India
Not only Shakib Khan, many other Bangladeshi stars have worked in Indian cinema in the past few years. Among them are Jaya Ahsan, Ziaul Farooq Apurba and Nusrat Faria . Although Apurba and Faria are not currently involved in any new projects in India. However, Jaya Ahsan has worked in a new film directed by Aniruddha Roychowdhury , which will be released in India in 2025.
