Rawal would no longer be seen in the role of Baburao Ganpat Rao Apte , the popular character in the series 'Hera Pheri', disappointment spread among the audience.
In a recent interview, Paresh Rawal said that he decided not to do 'Hera Pheri 3' due to disagreements with the makers.
Legal complications and financial liabilities
According to Indian media reports, Akshay Kumar's team sent a legal notice of Rs 25 crore to Paresh Rawal on May 20. It is alleged that he abruptly walked out of the project in breach of contract, causing the production house to suffer financial losses.
Paresh Rawal took an advance of Rs 11 lakh for 'Hera Pheri 3' . The contract stated that the remaining amount would be paid after the release of the film. But after leaving the project, he returned the advance with interest, and it is said that he even paid some extra money outside the contract.
Director's comments and co-star's reactions
Reacting to this incident, the film's director Priyadarshan said, "We had also shot a promo with Pareshji. Suddenly he stopped communicating. We came to know the news through the media."
On the other hand, Suniel Shetty,
who plays the character of Ghanshyam, said, "This is a big shock for us. I heard it for the first time from my sons and daughters (Athiya and Ahan). We didn't know anything."
Hera Pheri series and audience emotions
The 'Hera Pheri' series is synonymous with nostalgia. The audience is eternally excited to see the trio of Raju (Akshay Kumar), Ghanshyam (Sunil Shetty) and Babubhaiyya (Paresh Rawal) together on screen.
The first installment , 'Hera Pheri',
directed by Priyadarshan in 2000, was a huge success at the box office. The second installment, 'Phir Hera Pheri', came out in 2006. In that series, the third installment, 'Hera Pheri 3', is being made after 19 years. However, the absence of Paresh Rawal has somewhat dampened the audience's expectations for the movie.
