Secondary schools to have 23-day holiday:
Government and private secondary schools across the country will be closed for 23 consecutive days during Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacation. According to the academic calendar, the Eid-ul-Azha holiday is scheduled to start from June 1, but the two days preceding it (May 30-31) will be weekly holidays. As a result, the last class before the holiday begins will be on Thursday (May 29).
The summer vacation will also continue with the Eid holidays. The long vacation will end on June 19. Although secondary schools were supposed to open on June 20 after the long vacation, that day falls on a Friday. As a result, classes in secondary schools will resume from June 22 after a two-day weekly vacation, which is Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Viqarunnisa Noon School and College authorities in the capital have already issued a holiday notice. The notice states that the school branch will be closed from June 1 to 19 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacation. Classes will resume on June 22 as per the previous schedule.
Primary schools to have 21-day vacation
More than 65,500 government primary schools in the country will also have long vacations from the beginning of June. Government primary schools will be closed for a total of 21 days, including Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacation. The vacation will start from June 3, which will continue until June 23. Classes in primary schools will resume from June 24.
Madrasas will be closed for 25 days during
Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacations. Madrasas will have the longest consecutive holiday of 25 days. According to the madrasa curriculum published by the Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the Ministry of Education, the three government Aliya Madrasas and the private independent Ebtedayi, Dakhil, Alim, Fazil and Kamil Madrasas will have a combined holiday of Eid-ul-Azha and summer vacations starting from June 1, which will continue until June 25. Classes will resume from June 26.
Colleges to have 10-day holiday
Meanwhile, government and private colleges across the country will be closed for 10 days on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. There will be only Eid holidays in colleges. There will be no summer vacation. According to the college calendar, the Eid-ul-Azha holidays in government and private colleges will start on June 3 and will continue until June 12. Classes will resume in full swing in colleges from June 13.
