According to the notification, there will be no women's quota in the recommendation of teacher recruitment for vacant posts at the entry level of various private educational institutions; the educational qualifications (minimum) and conditions for appointment to the post of 'Assistant Teacher (Physical Education)' in the school section in (a) of Appendix-D of the Manpower Structure and MPO Policy-2021 and the post of 'Physical Education Teacher' in the college section in (b) will remain unchanged.
Earlier, the Non-Governmental
Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) had sent a letter to the Ministry of Education seeking its opinion on the matter. Later, in a meeting held at the ministry, officials voted in favor of keeping only a 7 percent quota in teacher recruitment through the NTRCA, following the latest directives of the Ministry of Public Administration.
During the quota reform movement, in light of the Supreme Court's Appellate Division directive on July 24 last year, quota was set at 7 percent in all grades (9th-20th) of government jobs. The remaining 93 percent was notified through direct examinations on the basis of merit.
The 7 percent quota includes
5 percent for the children of freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters and heroines, one percent for ethnic minorities, and one percent for the physically disabled and the third gender.
