Agriculture Officer and Returning Officer Abdus Sobhan said that the election for the posts of President and General Secretary of Mohammadpur Upazila Press Club has been held in the biennial election. Two candidates are contesting for the posts of President and two for the posts of General Secretary in this election.
A total of 32 voters cast their vote
s in the election. Md. Azizur Rahman Tutul was elected as the president with 20 votes and his rival Md. Rafiqul Islam Rafiq received 12 votes. General Secretary Md. Masud Rana was elected with 22 votes and his rival Md. Murad Hossain received 10 votes.
He further said that the election was
conducted in a fair and beautiful manner in a joyful atmosphere. The election was observed by Mohammadpur Upazila Executive Shahinur Akhter, Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Rahman, Secondary Education Officer Md. Anwar Hossain, Magura Press Club General Md. Shafiqul Islam, Mohammadpur Muktijoddha Command Council Convener Principal (retd.) Matiur Rahman, former BNP General Secretary Md. Mizanur Rahman Kabul, former Jamaat-e-Islami President Md. Kabir Hossain, among others.
