On this day in 2017, Razzak died at the age of 75 at the United Hospital in the capital after suffering a heart attack. He was born on January 23, 1942, into a wealthy Muslim family in Kolkata, India. His full name was Abdur Razzak. He began his acting career by performing in the theater in Kolkata.
With an unquenchable dream and desire to become a film hero, Razzak studied and received a diploma in cinema from the Filmalaya in Mumbai, India, in 1959. After returning to Kolkata, he acted in Shilalipi and another film. However, in 1964, due to communal riots in Kolkata, Razzak was forced to move to Dhaka with his family.
Razzak started his acting career in Dhaka in the 1960s by playing a supporting role in Salauddin's comedy film 'Tero No. 10 Feku Ostagar Lane'. He then acted in 'Kar Bou' and 'Dak Babu'.
Talented director Zahir Raihan brought Razzak in front of the camera for the first time as a hero by giving him the opportunity to play the role of Lakhinder in his folk movie 'Behula'.
He created a huge stir by acting as the hero opposite Suchanda in the movie 'Behula'. After that, Razzak never looked back.
From the late 60s to the 70s and 80s, Razzak reached the peak of his popularity, acting in more than 300 films. He directed 16 films. Among the popular films in which Razzak acted are 'Neel Akasher Nithi' , 'Mainamati', 'Madhu Milan', 'Peach Dhala Path', 'Je Agune Puri', 'Jibon Te Neya', 'Ki Je Kari', 'Abujh Mon', 'Rangbaaz', 'Beiman', 'Alor Micil', 'Ashikshit', 'Ananta Prem', 'Badi Te Begum' etc. He has also produced many films.

, Razzak-Kabri, Razzak-Shabana and Razzak-Babita pairs have stirred the hearts of the audience. He has received several National Film Awards in recognition of his work.
In his personal life, Razzak was happily married to Rajlakshmi and had three sons and two daughters. His two sons, Bapparaj and Samrat, are also established as heroes like their father. Nayakraj suffered from various illnesses in his later life. After his death, he was buried in the Banani graveyard.
