Veteran filmmaker and actor Sohail Runner had a long relationship with Hussain Muhammad Ershad. Sohail Rana spoke in an interview given to the media in this regard. The famous director of the country said that he considered Ershad a good person for a long time. But he was compared to a dictator. In that context, Sohail Rana's statement, 'We will do injustice to those who are in their blood. It is not that there are any wrongdoings that Ershad Sahib did not do. But as a man I was with him for ten years. From what I have seen for ten years, I can say that he is truly a good man.


Sohail Rana said, 'He (Ershad) is called by many as a dictator of nine years. I say, if he is called a dictator, Ershad Sahib should be admitted to the school of the so-called governments in power for the last 16 years, to learn what is dictatorship, what is dictatorship, how should it be done and what is the position of dictatorship.'


Sohail Rana's real name is Masood Parvez. He made his debut as a hero in the film Sohail Rana. He entered the film world as the producer of the first full-length liberation war film 'Ora 11 Jan' of Bangladesh. The film is directed by farmer Nazrul Islam. In 1973, Sohail made his debut as the hero of the film 'Masud Rana', based on a story of Kazi Anwar Hossain's famous fictional character Masud Rana, under the name Sohel Rana, and through the same film, he also started his journey as a director under the name Masud Parvez.
