Jumbangla Desk: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 850 kg of hilsa fish while being smuggled into India through Chanpur Bridge area bordering Panchthubi Union of Comilla Sadar Upazila.

On Sunday these fishes were seized on the basis of secret information.

It is known that yesterday afternoon Comilla Battalion (10 BGB) conducted an operation in the border area called Chanpur Bridge under Sadar Upazila on the basis of its own intelligence information. BGB's Cuttack Bazar check post patrol led by Habildar Jewel was able to seize 850 kg of hilsa fish while being smuggled into India from that place.

The estimated market value of seized hilsa is Tk 9.5 lakh, said BGB.

The government has banned the export of hilsa abroad without meeting the country's demand. Fisheries and Livestock Adviser Farida Akhtar said that the people of the country will get hilsa first, then export it. Country should be given importance first. It will then be exported.

In such a situation, this time in Durga Puja, there is a cry about Hilsa in India. Indian fish traders have sent a letter to the Bangladesh government asking for hilsa.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) is sitting on the back of India's moaning about Hilsa. BGB members are keeping an eye so that hilsa does not cross the border. Smugglers are in trouble because of this. Shipments of hilsa are being caught one after another at the border.
