Jumbangla Desk: A Bangladeshi youth named Omar Farooq was seriously injured in a mine explosion at Lalchar near the Nafnadi across the Myanmar border.

The incident took place on Tuesday (October 1) at around 10 am at Lalchar, adjacent to Nafnadi on the Myanmar border, beyond Hoikung Point in Teknaf. Injured Omar Farooq (18) of Teknaf upazila Hoikung No. 2 Ward North Para. Son of Elias. Local UP Chairman Principal Noor Ahmad Anwari said this.

The chairman said that through locals, Omar Farooq illegally entered Myanmar at Lalchar adjacent to Nafnadi through Teknaf's Hoikung border point around 10 am on Tuesday to bring fruit (Pineapple Ghola). A mine planted there exploded causing serious injuries to his right side.

The chairman also said that when the victim's family members came to know about the matter, they rescued him from there in an injured condition and took him to Kutupalong MSF Hospital in Ukhia.
