The Hindustan Times wrote that a fish was caught in the net. The fish was auctioned and sold. How the hilsa fish came to the fresh water of Damodar has been studied.

It is known that this hilsa fish was caught in Damodar river in Jamalpur of East Burdwan. On Friday morning, a crowd gathers around the Jamalpur bus stand to see the Hilsa of Damodar.

According to the report, the hilsa fish that was caught weighed about 1 kg. An auction was called for that one fish at Jamalpur Bus Stand.

It is known that this hilsa was caught in the net of a fisherman named Tapan Biswas. The price of hilsa in the auction starts from 1200 rupees. In the end, that hilsa was sold for 2100 rupees. Laxman Biswas, a resident of Jamalpur, bought the fish.

Meanwhile, Jamalpur's local fish traders and Artdares claim that Hilsa was seen in Damodar about 20 years ago, but this is the first time silver grain has been caught in the river in the last two decades.

A few days ago, a flood situation arose in Jamalpur due to the release of water from the DVC dam. In this climate, it is believed that the hilsa came from salt water to fresh water to lay eggs in Damodar river.

Fishermen claim that hilsa flocks. A fish caught in these conditions means more fish are likely to follow soon.
