Jumbangla Desk: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Paltan Model Police Station has arrested two members of a fraudster who embezzled money in the name of sending workers abroad.

The two arrested are Alamgir Hossain and Jannatul Ferdous. Deputy Commissioner of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP, Muhammad Talebur Rahman informed the matter.

He said that the victim Hamidul Islam filed a fraud case at Paltan Model Police Station on September 5. It is mentioned in the statement of the case, Md. He also said that on July 2, 2023, he gave 5 passports and cash of 5 lakhs to the accused while sitting at Al-Taqdeer International of Paltan police station. After that he gave 54 lakh 47 thousand rupees on different dates. After taking the money, the accused sent 11 people to Saudi Arabia, but the workers did not get work as promised. Apart from that, they gave fake visas to 23 people. Hamidul Islam realized their fraud and filed the case at Paltan Model Police Station.

About the arrest, DC Media said, Alamgir Hossain and Jannatul Ferdous were arrested at Hatirjheel area on October 3 after identifying the location of the accused based on intelligence information. During preliminary interrogation, the accused have admitted their involvement in the incident.

The accused have been sent to court in the case of Paltan Model Police Station. Apart from this, the police officer also said that the operation is continuing to arrest other members of the fraudsters.
