One witness described the situation as 'terrible', saying the city had been hit by at least nine violent airstrikes in the space of thirty minutes.
The witness is a local person of the city. He said there was an attack directly on the municipality building in Nabatieh city. The mayor of the city was attending a meeting on the humanitarian situation there.
The town resident said he saw an ambulance heading towards the scene, where a search and rescue operation was underway. The country's Ministry of Public Health confirmed the news of the attack. They initially confirmed the death of five people.
On the other hand, the Israeli Defense Force or IDF has confirmed the attack in the city of Nabatieh. They said dozens of Hezbollah installations had been attacked and underground facilities used by Hezbollah had been destroyed.
“Terrorist infrastructure areas, Hezbollah centers and weapons caches are among the places that have been attacked. Civilians have been used as shields in these places”.
Meanwhile, Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack in the city of Nabatieh. His office said Israel had deliberately targeted the municipal council meeting.
