A senior official of Bangladesh Bank gave this information today.

The MD-zero government banks are Agrani, Sonali, Janata, Rupali, BDBL, Basic, Palli Akumik and Ansar-VDP.

On September 19, a letter was sent from the Ministry of Finance canceling the official contract with the MDs. As a result, the banks have been operating without their top executives for almost a month.

On October 14, Chairman of Sonali Bank Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Chairman of Agrani Bank Syed Abu Nasser Bakhtiar Ahmed and Chairman of Rupali Bank Nazrul Huda held a meeting with the financial adviser regarding the appointment of MD. In the meeting, they seriously presented the issue of recruitment.


A chairman who was present at the meeting told Jumbangla, "They have formally requested the appointment of a new MD and the finance advisor has assured them that the matter will be resolved soon."

Former Chairman and MD of Agrani Bank Syed Abu Nasser Bakhtiar said that some of those who are lobbying for this position have been accused of money laundering and association with various delinquent groups. So whoever is appointed should be honest and prudent to lead.

The government will punish those who lost the information and evidence of casualties from the hospital
