An allegation of robbery of Tk 4 lakh 20 thousand was made by beating a Hindu businessman on the head of Shivchar in Madaripur on his way home after closing his business.

The incident took place on Friday (October 18) at Sonapatti area of Panchchar upazila around 10 pm. The victim is the son of businessman Anil Vanik of Sona Patti area.
Kamal Banik (55), a grocer of Panchchar Bazar, on his way home after closing his business as usual, while bowing down at the temple near his house, a group of four or five robbers hit him on the head with a hammer and robbed him of Rs. Later, the injured person was treated at a private hospital named Shah Neshar located on the Panchchar-Shivachar regional road.
In this incident, the OC of Shivchar police station. Moktar Hossain said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving the information.
