The case was filed against the Deputy Director of the Cox's Bazar Integrated District Office of the Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday. The plaintiff in the case is the deputy director of the Dhaka head office of Anti-Corruption Commission. Monirul Islam.

Earlier, on September 2 last year, a report was published in the print and online versions of Daily Yugantar under the title 'Zero to Half Hundred Crore Malik Jahangir'. After that, the ACC started an inquiry about him.

It is known that 10 years ago, Jahangir used to live a poor life due to unemployment. Currently, he is like a king by capitalizing on the Rohingyas. He has built a huge empire in drug and smuggling money. Lives in the building. Ride in a luxury car.


Locals say that Jahangir has become a money crocodile by using the Rohingyas. The owner of abundant wealth and half a hundred million rupees. It is alleged that he is the owner of this wealth today by bringing Yaba in the dark of the night with the shelter of the rulers.

Jahangir Alam's house is in Purva Leda village of Hnila union of Teknaf upazila.

According to the police, on February 16, 2019, 102 Yaba Karbaris, listed by the Ministry of Home Affairs, surrendered at the Teknaf Pilot High School grounds. The then Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal welcomed them with flowers. After that, 102 traders including Jahangir were arrested in two cases, but on 23 November 2022, the judge of Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge Court acquitted them all.

According to the ACC's statement of case, an inquiry has been made against Jahangir Alam regarding the allegation of acquiring assets beyond his known means. After the investigation, he was given a notice to submit the asset statement. On February 28, he submitted a statement of assets to the commission, where it is seen that he has acquired assets of Tk 2 crore 8 lakh 45 thousand 628. A case has been filed for this.

Jahangir Alam was contacted several times regarding the complaint but his statement was not available. His mobile phone is switched off.
