Gafargaon upazila received hailstorm on Friday night. Many houses have been destroyed by the storm. Trees are uprooted. Aman paddy suffered extensive damage.

Minhaj Miah of Shilasi village in Saltia Union said that the tin shed of his house was damaged due to the storm. There was extensive damage to plants and crops.

Sujan Miah of Basutia village said that due to untimely hailstorm along with the storm, there was a huge damage to the emerging Aman crops. Meanwhile, electricity supply is off in most areas of the upazila except the municipal area.

Gafargaon Power Development Board Executive Engineer. Mosharof Hossain said that power supply has been stopped in several areas due to trees falling on power lines due to the storm.

Deputy Assistant Plant Protection Officer. Ruhul Amin said that as a result of the storm and hailstorm, various types of vegetables including Aman paddy and gourd have been damaged.
