Md. Mamun Islam, Basas: According to the history of the world, some momentary hero was born to save the nation at the time of crisis. Abu Saeed is such a hero. who acted as a spark in the anti-discrimination student uprising. Laying down his life changed the momentum of the movement drastically. Students all over the country took his life sacrifice as the path of their movement.
Sir
This nation considered the fallen Awami League government as a dictatorship. And that dictatorial government established a miserable regime with torture, oppression, murder, disappearance, and murder on the common people.
Just when the people of this country had lost the language of protest, Abu Saeed, a brilliant student of the English Department of Begum Rokeya University (Berobi), sacrificed his life as a momentary and fearless hero of this generation and transmitted intense momentum to the movement.
Abu Saeed was born in 2001 in a poor family in a remote village called Babanpur of Pirganj. His father's name is Maqbul Hossain and mother's name is Monowara Begum.
In the absence of nine brothers and sisters, only Abu Saeed was able to continue his studies. He was a 12th batch student of English Department of Begum Rokeya University.
On July 16, Abu Saeed was martyred when he was shot in the chest by the police during the quota reform movement in government jobs. He created a unique example of self-sacrifice and bravery.
In the interview given about the strong leadership of Abu Saeed, inspired by the revolutionary spirit, and his current influence in the university, the vice-chancellor of the university, Dr. Shaukat Ali, coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement and general students expressed their various comments about him.
More than three months have already passed in the womb of Mahakal after the passing of the unknown people of Shaheed Abu Saeed. Aboro education program started in Berobi. Although the students returned to class, only Abu Saeed did not return. Even sitting in the class, his classmates remember Abu Saeed with sorrow.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Shaukat Ali said, 'Abu Saeeds are not born every day. They are transient. From time to time, Abu Saeed was born alone for the liberation of the nation. A man who sacrifices his life to save a nation is no ordinary man. I think the nation will forever remember his epic heroism with reverence.'
Shaukat Ali said, Abu Saeed was undoubtedly talented. He has passed the first job test in his life after completing his graduation. He has also secured 14th place in the merit list with CGPA 3.30 out of 4 in the university graduation examination. It also proved that he was brilliant.
The Vice-Chancellor also said, 'I have come to know that Shaheed Abu Saeed was just as brilliant as he was modest. All his classmates now remember him with pride.'
He said, 'The university was closed for a long time after the martyrdom of Abu Saeed on July 16 in the anti-discrimination student movement. I opened the university after taking charge as the Vice-Chancellor. The students returned to the campus and could not bear Abu Saeed's absence. I saw the shadow of grief among all who were burdened by Abu Saeed's absence.'
He said, respecting the demands of Abu Saeed's family and students, a residential hall will be constructed in his name. Meanwhile, it has been decided to name the gate number one in the university as Shaheed 'Shaheed Abu Saeed Gate'. Apart from this, Shaheed Abu Saeed's younger sister Sumi Khatun has been appointed to her brother's English department in this university.
In response to another question, he said, "The students of the university have asked for a quick and fair trial of the killing of Shaheed Abu Saeed." The fact-finding committee constituted in this regard has already given its report. The syndicate meeting will take the next decision in this regard.
Rakib Ahmed, a student of the English department, said that academic activities have already started in the university. We students of English department are back for class-examination. But our brother Shahid Abu Saeed will never return to class. I can't express how empty I feel when I come to class without him. When I remember the scene in which Abu Saeed was shot and killed from close range with his hands pulled on both sides, I became somewhat silent and speechless.
Tawhidul Haque Siam, a student and journalist of Berobi's Management Information Systems department who was with Abu Saeed on July 16 like other agitating students, said that Abu Saeed was very brave, strong-willed and a different kind of patriot. He had only a simple baton in his hand when the police fired reckless rubber bullets, tear gas and bullets. He didn't move, he stayed by the wooden bridge. At that time, 5/6 policemen surrounded him and brutally tortured and bloodied him.
Siam said, 'I try to save Abu Saeed. Even then the police did not open fire. At that time, Dosar Berobi's teachers Asad Mondal and Mashiar Rahman, officials Abul Kalam, Tapas Kumar Ghosh, employees Nurunnabi, Johnny and Noor Alam threw bricks and abused some students. At this time, everyone moved but Abu Saeed did not move. From very close, the police started shooting at Saeed. Abu Saeed fell down. When I, along with other protesting students, took him away, the police opened fire again. 60 bullets entered my body in different places. Abu Saeed was taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital by other students. At that time, the student Ahmadul Haque Alvi who was next to me took me to that hospital. I found 15/16 injured students there along with the dead body of my brother Abu Saeed who was already martyred around 3:30 PM. I then took first aid and left the hospital for safety reasons. Abu Saeed's heroic sacrifice gives us more courage to accelerate the movement.'
One of the coordinators of Berobi's anti-discrimination student movement, Bengali department student Shamsur Rahman Sumon said that the then ongoing anti-discrimination student movement immediately created an invincible spark across the country through the supreme sacrifice of the talented student of English department, Abu Saeed. The movement turned into a mass explosion of students. The foundations of tyranny are shaken. Within three weeks of this, on August 5, the then fascist Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the autocratic government fled to India to save herself from the wrath of the countrymen, and the second independence of the nation was achieved.
He said, 'Abu Saeed Bhai's extraordinary and strong leadership constantly accelerates the anti-discrimination student movement. Due to financial constraints, he used to have two tuitions every day from 3 pm to evening. He knew a lot of information about everything. Every procession-meeting was organized smoothly. He used to inspire everyone by giving informative speeches with extraordinary confidence and courage to make the anti-discrimination student movement a success.'
Sabina Yasmin, a student of the English Department, who is the coordinator of Berobi's anti-discrimination student movement, said, 'Shaheed Abu Saeed played a strong role in successfully accelerating the movement in the university by leading the anti-discrimination student movement from the beginning. Under the guidance given by him, I organized women students and involved them in the movement with the help of my classmates.
Sabina said, 'Abu Saeed often said, we will leave after the demands are met. He had a strong determination which encouraged everyone to join the movement.'
Mahid Hasan Shakil, a student of Accounting and Information Systems Department, who is the coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement, said, "Abu Saeed was always by everyone's side in times of danger. He came forward to help in any matter. But Abu Saeed is not among us today. The scene of him standing to get that chest keeps popping up in the corner of his mind. The heart groans.'
Student of CSE department coordinator of anti-discrimination student movement of Berobi. Rahmat Ali said, 'After the martyrdom of Abu Saeed on July 16, a scary situation was created in the campus. After losing Abu Saeed Bhai, who had been a successful leader of the movement from the beginning, there was some emotional depression among the students who were agitating in his absence. Police, Berobi and Mahanagar Chhatra League, Jubo League and their armed thugs created a horrifying situation in the campus and surrounding areas. On July 17, we took a lot of risk and arranged the Janaza of martyr Abu Saeed Bhai's Ghaibana Namaz near Gate No. 2 and did not take part in it.'
He said, 'After the martyrdom of Abu Saeed Bhai, the university was closed on that day and the students were ordered to leave the hall. After that, in his absence on July 18 and 19, aggressive patrolling by large numbers of police, BGB and RAB, intimidation and internet shutdown made it difficult to continue the movement. A large number of students were injured in police firing during the march of thousands of students in the entire city including Berobi. After that curfew was issued on July 20.
Rahmat said, 'Abu Saeed's self-sacrifice has inspired us. We participate in the movement with the risk of death. We bravely continued the movement on the path shown by Abu Saeed. We didn't leave the highway. Finally, on August 5, the final victory of the mass uprising of the students was achieved through the escape of the fascist dictatorship Sheikh Hasina.
When asked why Abu Saeed stood in the face of police fire with both hands spread before his martyrdom, Berobi students Bayezid bin Rashid, Eman Ali, anti-discrimination student movement coordinator Sabina Yasmin, Shamsur Rahman Sumon, Rahmat Ali and Nahid Hasan Shakeel gave their comments.
They said that Abu Saeed was the leader of the movement for a long time. On July 11, BLA President Pomel Barua, General Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Shamim and Masum of BLA made a planned attack to kill Abu Saeed on July 11. But Abu Saeed was steadfast and determined. He didn't care about any of this. Rather, he was extremely confident about the success of the movement. Sayeed was ready to sacrifice his life as a patriot and the responsibilities of leadership to achieve his just demands by defeating the farce of dictators and fascists. So they felt that he was thus facing certain death.
They said, 'The second freedom of the country was gained in exchange of the blood of thousands of martyrs in a movement that started with the heroic self-sacrifice of martyr Abu Saeed. The void of his absence will never be filled. His memory will be with us forever. His killers are yet to be punished. This is another source of pain for us. The trial of his murder must be completed quickly.'
The history of this year's uprising is the history of the sacrifice of the youth. This is the history of the new freedom. The history of liberating the people of Bangladesh from dictatorship. It is hoped that the anti-discrimination spirit and deep patriotism of this history's foremost warrior and hero Abu Saeed will spread among the people of all walks of life and the nation will never forget him.
