He got 123 votes for the post of president, his nearest rival Dinajpur Trinamool organizer AFM Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury got 5 votes. Voting is open from 2pm to 6pm on Saturday (October 26). Tabith was previously elected vice president twice in 2012 and 2016 elections as an independent during Kazi Salahuddin's tenure. In the last election in 2020, he stood for the post of Vice President but lost to Sebar Mohiuddin Ahmed Mohi by one vote.
