At Durgapur in Netrakona, seven people of the same family, including a child, fell seriously ill after consuming worm medicine given by Kaviraj. When they were taken to the Upazila Health Complex, they were referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment as their condition was critical.

The sick are - Farooq Mia (35), Kamrun Nahar (30), Rabia Begum (60), Husna Ara (65), children Mujahid (9), Iqra (7) and Ilma (3) of the same family.
The relatives said that worm medicine was brought from a Kaviraj of Vijaypur village on Thursday afternoon. On Friday morning everyone fainted one by one immediately after eating at the same time on an empty stomach. At that time, when the family members started screaming, the people from the neighborhood rushed and took them to the Durgapur Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty referred them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment as their condition was critical.
Relative Hanufa Akhtar said, everyone is in this condition after taking the worm medicine given by Kaviraj. I am taking everyone to Mymensingh Hospital for better treatment. The condition of the children does not look good.
Resident Medical Officer at Durgapur Upazila Health Complex. Md. Tanjirul Islam Raihan said, on the advice of the village chief, Pahari eats a fruit as an anthelmintic. As a result, all seven of them in the same family became ill. But the condition of the children is a little worse so we referred seven to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital with first aid.
