Dharma Desk: It is difficult to find a person who does not have anger or anger. Being angry, people often do many wrong things, which they would not otherwise do. On the other hand, Allah Ta'ala also loves a person who controls anger and forgives. In the Holy Qur'an, God Himself declared, 'Those who spend (in the way of God) in good and bad, and those who refrain from anger and forgive people, God loves the righteous. (Surah Imran, Verse: 134)
On the other hand, a person who can control his anger is compared to a true hero. In a hadith narrated by Abu Huraira (R.A.), the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said - The real hero is not the one who defeats someone in wrestling. Rather, he is the true hero, who is able to control himself when angry. (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 5684)
In this case, during anger, abuse is seen in most cases, which should not be done at all. There is a strict prohibition on this in the hadith. On the authority of Abu Dharr (R.A.), Rasulullah (S.A.W.) said, One should not abuse another as a fasiq and one should not slander another as an infidel. For if he is not, it will fall upon him. (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 2476)
However, there are also hadiths about simple practices in controlling anger. In a hadith narrated from Mu'adh Ibn Jabal (RA), once two men were abusing each other in front of the Prophet (PBUH). There was even a hint of confusion on one's face. Then Rasool (pbuh) addressed them and said, I know of such a Kalima that if he recites it, his disease will be alleviated. That is- أَعُوئُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ (Aujubillahi Minash Shaitanir Razim). Meaning: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the banished Satan. (Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3452)
On the other hand, ablution to control anger is also mentioned in the hadith. On the authority of Abu Wayl al-Qas (RA), Rasulullah (SAW) said, Anger is the result of Satanic influence. Satan was created from fire. And fire can be extinguished with water. So if any of you is angry, let him perform ablution. (Abu Dawud, Hadith: 4784)
