Nazmul Hossain Shanto wants to leave the leadership of the Bangladesh national cricket team. Ever since such news broke, there have been rumors about potential captains. Some are thinking of Tawhid Hriday as Shant's successor while others are finding hope in pacer Taskin Ahmed. But Shanta still did not give up leadership. BCB has also made him the captain for the upcoming Afghanistan series.

But before leaving the country for the United Arab Emirates on Saturday (November 2) for the Afghanistan series, Hriday-Taskin faced media questions about his captaincy at the airport. Both of them pushed the matter to BCB court.

On the question of captaincy, Taskin said, 'The matter of fixing the captaincy is in the decision of the board. If BCB wants, why not (to be the captain)? But it is the board's decision.'

Meanwhile, Bangladesh is returning to ODI format after a long tight month. Taskin believes that Bangladesh will do well in the Afghanistan series despite returning after a long break, 'There will be something good in this series. If something good happens, our bad times will be behind us.'

All of Bangladesh's three ODIs against Afghanistan will be in Sharjah. Taskin's assessment of the wicket there, 'The white ball is played on a good wicket. Take this challenge. The series will be challenging. We will win, God willing.'
