South China Morning Post reported this information in a report on Thursday that the trend of such marriages is increasing in Indonesian villages recently .

According to that report, young women in remote areas of Indonesia are temporarily marrying male tourists in exchange for money. Temporary marriage is the only way for women to survive in Indonesia, which is suffering from economic crisis. In some villages in Indonesia, the practice of such marriages has become a profession.

Although the practice is illegal under the country's law, it is widely practiced. According to reports, young women from poor families are showing interest in short-term marriages in exchange for money. Primarily the women are engaging in such relationships with male tourists from West Asia.

If both parties agree, a casual wedding is quickly arranged. In return, the tourist gave the bride a large amount of money. As long as these tourists stay in Indonesia, they treat the young woman as a wife.

The man left the country five days after the wedding and the temporary marriage was also dissolved, the South China Morning Post said. A young woman can earn 25 thousand to 40 thousand rupees from each marriage.

In this way, young women in Indonesia are shouldering their own expenses and even family responsibilities through temporary marriage.
