The police arrested Nur Habib, the former vice-president of Haragach Municipal Chhatra League of Kaunia Upazila, in connection with the attack on the anti-discrimination movement in Rangpur on Wednesday evening.

Noor Habib (30) was working as a work assistant in Haragach municipality and son of Nurul Haque of Gafurtari Colony village, Haragach.

Inspector (OC) of Haragach Metro Police Station Mominul Islam Sohel confirmed this information.

He said that a team of Rangpur Kotwali Police Station came on Wednesday evening and they conducted a raid with the help of Haragach Police Station and arrested Nur Habib while working in the municipal building.

Arrested in the case of attack on anti-discrimination student movement in Rangpur and sent to court on Thursday afternoon.

However, Haragach Municipal Administrator and Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Lokman Hossain said that he was not informed about the arrest of Municipal Executive Assistant Noor Habib.
