Ordinary students have started a non profit shop in Chitalmari of Bagerhat district. Here all the products are being sold at lower prices than the market. This has brought relief to the buyers.

On Wednesday (November 6) the day of the haat, from noon to evening, a shop was crowded with shoppers.

Upazila central Shahid Minar gate front 'Bina Beer' shop. The common students of madrasas, schools, colleges and universities of Chitalmari upazila of Bagerhat have opened the shop. And customers who come here are happy to buy products at low prices.

It is known on the ground that Chitalmari Upazila Sadar Bazaar has a market two days a week (Wednesday and Saturday). So a 'non-profit' shop was opened under the banner of ordinary students to give some relief to the ordinary customers.

The shop sells maize dal at Tk 105 per kg, eggs at Tk 45 per kg, sugar at Tk 125 per kg, onion (desi) at Tk 105 per kg, garlic at Tk 220 per kg and green chillies at Tk 115 per kg.

Consumers claim that it is being sold at a lower price than other shops in the market. Apart from this, the store dispenses with polythene and supplies the products in eco-friendly bags.

Shahadat Khandkar, Manwar Hossain and Mosharraf Molla who came to buy the products said that they got the products at a low price in the store without profit. The quality of the goods is also very good. Even if we come here from afar, we are happy to buy goods at low prices.

Didarul Islam, Tanveer Biswas, Sheikh Hasan, Shihab Munshi, Naeem Munshi, Ratul Sheikh, Abdul Karim Sheikh, Swarna Akhtar, Sadia Akhtar, Mishti Akhtar, Mau Akhtar and Lamia among the organizers of the non-profit shop said, "We are trying from our small scale to help the traders."
