Golam Sarwar Hossain Molla, former president of Kola Union BNP of Jhenaidah, was hacked and injured by miscreants. The incident took place at Cola Bazar of the upazila around 11:30 on Saturday. The injured Golam Sarwar is a resident of Pariat village of Molla upazila.

According to the locals, Golam Sarwar Molla was sitting at the junction of three roads in the upazila's Cola Bazar on Saturday morning. At that time some young men suddenly attacked him. They escaped after being cut in different parts of the body with sharp weapons. After that, the locals rescued him and took him to the Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty transferred him to Jessore with first aid.
On condition of anonymity, a shopkeeper at the scene of the attack said that Golam Sarwar Hossain Molla was sitting in a shop. At that time some young men including Mostak, Pannu, Harun, Kamrul and Masud came and ambushed him. All of them are supporters of Nazrul Molla of the neighboring union Jamal Union. In the past days, the attackers including Nazrul Mollah were involved in Awami League politics.
Doctor Shishir Kumar Sana of Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex said that Golam Sarwar Molla had a sharp weapon injury on his head. He was referred to Jessore with first aid.
Kaliganj Police Station OC (Investigation) Manik Chandra Gain said that the attack happened due to previous enmity. But no one has given any written complaint yet. The situation is calm.
