Jumbangla Desk: Acting Chairman of BNP Tarek Rahman said that it is not possible to remove the mess created by the mafia government in 15 years in three months. But if inefficiency is observed in the management of the government, the people will not accept it easily.

On Saturday (16 November) afternoon, Tariq Rahman said these things by joining an event of textile engineers virtually. The event was held on the occasion of the Third National Council of the Nationalist Textile Engineers Association (JTEB) at Ramna.

BNP Standing Committee member Professor A ZM Zahid Hossain inaugurated this program in the morning. Fakhrul Alam was elected president and Ruhul Amin Akand was elected general secretary in this council.

Tariq Rahman said, 'The fugitive dictatorship and its henchmen are not sitting down to completely fail the government. Whether it is inside the country or outside the country, inside the administration or outside the country.

They have to get there—how to make this interim government fail. We think that if the people's trust with the government is close, they (the fugitive dictatorship) will not get the opportunity to spread the branches of the conspiracy. If the government can identify what the people want, the conspirators will have no chance. Their conspiracy will not succeed.'

Acting Chairman of BNP said that if the political and economic power of the people is not ensured, democracy, development or problems will not be sustainable. A citizen's first instrument of political power is the right to vote. If the people do not get the opportunity to vote, then the relationship-partnership that the citizens have with the state is not created.

He said, 'The interim government has taken the initiative to reorganize the Election Commission. People expect that they will be able to vote without fear in a transparent environment. I believe that the bond of trust of the people with the government will be stronger if we get credible and specific trust.'

Tariq Rahman said, the injured people came out of the hospital in the street, this is a shameful scene for the democracy-loving people of the whole country. Naturally, the question may arise, why is the treatment and safety of the injured in the July-August uprising not on the priority list of the interim government? He said, in addition, the step to bring things within the purchasing power of the people is in the priority list of the government?

He said, 'All the works of the government may not be considered a success by everyone. However, the failure of this interim government is the failure of all of us, the failure of democratic and freedom-loving people. If they (interim governments) can be defeated, democracy can be defeated. We have to realize that billions of people of Bangladesh, who love democracy, who want to practice democracy, will be failed.

He said, 'In such a situation, it seems that some of the decisions of the interim government, they do not want to consider the issue of public desire. Rather what they think is good. That may be trying to impose.'

Tariq Rahman said that despite this failure, people still want to trust this government, they do not want to lose their trust.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir mentioned his party's support to the interim government and said, 'We hope that the government will reform the basic problems and create a proper and fair election environment. They are working, working, we are supporting them.'

JTEB president Fakhrul Alam presided over the opening ceremony. Abdul Moin Khan, A Z M Zahid Hossain, Vice Chairman Zainal Abedin, Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Nitai Roy Chowdhury, Chairman's Advisory Council Member Abdus Salam, Farhad Halim Donor and other textile engineering leaders spoke.
