Imran Nazir, Shivaloy (Manikganj): A large quantity of banned polythene was seized in Baradia market of Utholi union of Shivaloy upazila of Manikganj.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate SM Faiz Ahmed led the operation on Sunday afternoon. At this time, police and members of Ansar forces cooperated.

During the operation, 560 kg of banned polythene was seized. But polyethylene businessman Madan Das escaped.

Executive Magistrate Faiz Ahmed said, after receiving the information, a raid was conducted in Baradia market. Madan Das, a resident of Katrasin village, identified as a polythene trader, escaped. Attempts are being made to arrest him. Such campaign against banned polythene will continue in public interest.
