No freight vehicles could pass through the Chatlapur customs station till the last report at 4 pm on Friday (November 29). The concerned official said that India has not yet given any reply even though Bangladesh contacted about the matter.

It is known that ISKCON members blocked the road to Chatlapur customs station in Kailashahar, India last Wednesday afternoon. This stopped the commercial activities of the two countries. Due to the closure, goods worth about one and a half crore rupees were stuck for two days. Bangladeshi businessmen are also facing losses.


Sohel Rana Chowdhury, the secretary of Chatlapur LC station traders' association and businessman Rubel Ahmed said that due to the stop of import and export from Wednesday, goods worth about one and a half million rupees are stuck. India used to send raw products including a lot of fish, but due to the sudden stoppage we have suffered losses.

They also said that ISKCON members suddenly protested in India on Wednesday and tied their flags there. It has stopped the movement of freight vehicles from Bangladesh. At the same time no goods are coming from India. We have spoken to Chatlapur customs station authorities. The concerned said that the two countries are discussing the issue.
