Two twin sisters named Lakshmi Rani and Saraswati Rani (65) died simultaneously in Mahadevpur, Naogaon. The tragic incident took place on Saturday (November 30) at 5:30 am in Saraswatipur Sarkar Para of Bhimpur Union of Upazila. This incident has cast a shadow of mourning on the area.

Locals said that Lakshmi Rani and Saraswati Rani, twin daughters of late Shankar Sarkar of Saraswatipur Sarkar Para, used to live in their father's house with their husband and children after marriage. Among them Lakshmi Rani was suffering from heart disease for a long time. Lakshmi Rani died around 5 am on Saturday morning.

At that time, the other twin sister Saraswati Rani fell on the ground lamenting that 'I came into the world together and you left me' and she died immediately.

Saraswatipur High School Office Assistant and Saraswatipur Sarkar Para Village Johnny Sarkar said that since they had no brothers, Lakshmi Rani four sisters used to live in their father's house with their husband and children after marriage. Together, the death of their twin sisters has cast a pall over the family and community.

When OC Md. Hashmat Ali of Mahadevpur police station was contacted in this regard, he said that he is not aware of the matter.
