The woman arrested at Salman's house

Mumbai Police have arrested a young man and a woman for

trying to breach the security at Bollywood

superstar Salman Khan's Bandra residence in Mumbai, NDTV reported on Thursday.

The accused, Jitendra Kumar Singh (23) and Isha Chhabra (32), residents of Chhattisgarh, tried to enter Salman's Galaxy apartment separately on Tuesday and Wednesday, the media reported, citing Mumbai Police sources.

Mumbai Police said that Jitendra Kumar Singh was roaming around Salman Khan's house at 9:45 am on Tuesday. When a policeman on security duty tried to remove him, he got angry and broke his mobile phone.

Later, at around 7:15 pm, the young

man sneaked into Salman's apartment by hiding behind the car of a resident of the building. However, he was caught again by the police personnel and he was directly handed over to the Bandra police station.

During interrogation, Jitendra Kumar said that he wanted to meet Salman Khan. But the police did not allow him to enter, so he tried to enter secretly.

Meanwhile, a 32-year-old woman named Isha Chhabra made a similar attempt at around 3:30 am on Wednesday. She even reached the elevator of the apartment. But the police caught her there.

Later, a case of illegal entry was filed against both of them and their arrest was shown.

Past security threats

Earlier, on April 14 last year, two bikers opened fire in front of Salman Khan's house. Investigation revealed that the incident was a planned attack by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.Salman Khan became their main target following the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, alleging that he hurt the religious sentiments of the Bishnoi community.

India's news agency NIA reported in 2023 that Salman Khan was at the top of the 10 main assassination targets of the Bishnoi gang.

Following these threats,

Mumbai Police has given him 'Y-plus' security and extensive renovations have been made to strengthen security at his home.

A few months after the April 2024 shooting incident, the Bishnoi gang killed NCP leader and Salman Khan's close friend Baba Siddiqui. After this, the actor's security was further strengthened.

Salman Khan's comment

In March this year, during a press conference during the promotion of the movie 'Sikander', Salman Khan said, 'There is no problem when I am in front of the press. But when the press is not there, my movement is restricted. Now I just go from Galaxy to the shooting spot, then I go straight back home - I don't feel like roaming around anywhere.'
