holds most of its 270 cow's manure. The barns are cleaned and compost hauled each fall after corn harvest. The couple says the old compost helps add topsoil back to the fields and serves as a great fertilizer.

“We chose to do a compost barn because we were trying to mimic the cow comfort and freedom to lay where they wanted to of that of a pasture,” said Megan Zeman.
