Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami will hold a meeting with Chief Election

On Sunday (June 1), CEC's Private Secretary Md. Ashraful Islam confirmed this matter.

He said that Jamaat leader ATM Azharul Islam called. A delegation of them asked for a meeting tomorrow. The CEC has given the time at 12 noon on Monday. Four or five of them can come.


Earlier this morning, a four-member

appellate bench headed by Chief Justice Syed Refat Ahmed directed the Election Commission (EC) to return the party's registration. The EC has also been asked to implement the directive immediately. The EC will also decide whether the party will be registered with the scales symbol or not.


However, regarding the return of Jamaat's registration at noon, Election Commission Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed said, "So far, we have not received any observations regarding Jamaat's registration and symbol. After receiving the observations, a legally applicable decision will be taken."

 


He further said, "

Jamaat will get what it legally deserves regarding its symbol. What are your observations regarding their registration regarding the symbol? If there are no documents, I have nothing to say institutionally."
