Identity Card (NID) while he was the
information advisor to the interim government. The agency took the decision based on allegations of NID information leakage. However, Nahid's NID was unlocked after 5 days due to lack of evidence to support the allegations.
Nahid's NID locked
NTMC informed the National Identity Card Division that the admin of the 'Bhandababa' group is a person named Nahid Islam. His NID number was also given to the National Identity Card Division. The division then launched an investigation. The investigation revealed that 'Bhandababa' is not a WhatsApp group. It is a Telegram group. And Nahid is not the admin of that group.
Nahid's NID was locked on September 17 last year.
No evidence of data leakage was found against his NID. The agency unlocked the NID on September 22 last year after the investigation found no truth to the allegations.
An investigation committee was
also formed in this regard. The investigation report said that since no involvement was found in the provision of data by this voter and the allegation was proven false, the committee recommended unlocking the NID of Md. Nahid Islam. Based on their report, when the documents were submitted, the NID Director General decided to unlock the NID on September 22.
This is how former advisor Nahid Islam's NID remains locked for five days.
Current NID Director General SM Humayun Kabir told the media, "I was not there at that time. So it is not a matter for me to consider. And I do not want to give my opinion on an old matter with which I have no involvement."
