Tarique Rahman wrote in his status, "I often say that reforming the individual mindset is much more important than reforming the written or written documents of an organization." The North Korean constitution calls the country the 'Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Democracy is not in words, but in its acceptance and implementation.
He wrote, "Impartiality and credibility are the greatest assets for any interim government. They cannot be wasted. Nothing should be done that undermines public trust or alienates citizens. We call on the interim administration not to view democracy-loving citizens or political parties as adversaries. If anyone in the government wants to remain in power in the future, they must resign and seek a new mandate through a popular vote."
He further wrote that over 30
million new voters have been added to the electoral rolls of Bangladesh in the last fifteen years. But many of them have not had the opportunity to choose their representatives in the national elections. For them, democracy is still an unfulfilled promise.
Tarique Rahman writes, "To our past deposed, humiliated, and fugitive dictators, neither rights nor elections meant much. That is why reform, while necessary, is not enough. Now the interim government must show visible, well-organized preparations for a national election."
He wrote, “History in Bangladesh shows
that a caretaker government can organize and hold national elections within three months. There are precedents, it is possible. Yet, ten months after they took office, the interim administration has yet to announce an election date. The people of Bangladesh deserve better than this. We want a country free from authoritarianism, with a government that is freely elected and accountable to the people .”
Therefore , Tarique Rahman called on the interim government to ensure national elections by next December .
