Indian media has compiled a list of Bollywood films that have grossed more than 200 crore Indian rupees worldwide in the last decade and a half.
The list shows that the first Bollywood film to gross over Rs 200 crore at the global box office was '3 Idiots'. Released in 2009, the film directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi, reached this milestone worldwide. Since then, many films have achieved this feat. However, the record for the highest worldwide grossing from the beginning till now is still held by Aamir Khan. And that is 'Dangal'.
The film, released in 2016,
grossed 20.59 billion Indian rupees worldwide. In its initial release, the film grossed over 7.5 billion rupees worldwide. In 2017, the film was a huge success at the Chinese box office and eventually made history by grossing over 200 billion rupees.
Apart from this, Shah Rukh Khan is the hero of the film that has earned more than 200 crore rupees worldwide. Salman Khan also has several films on the list. There are also films by Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn.
