filed a complaint of disappearance against 7 people,
including former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, at the International Crimes Tribunal. At the time, he said that those who were victims of disappearance, murder and torture under the fascist regime can file a complaint.
Against 7 people including HasinaTalking to reporters after filing the complaint, Salahuddin Ahmed said, "The disappearance and murder incident will be filed as a case in the International Crimes Tribunal. But so far, no visible action has been seen in this regard, which is very disappointing." He also said, "Those involved in the disappearance and murder, including Sheikh Hasina, must be brought to justice."
At that time, Salahuddin Ahmed called
on the Commission on Disappearances to punish those arrested so far in the disappearances and find those who have fled. He said that those involved in the disappearances, including former army officer Ziaul Hasan, should be brought to justice. The responsibility of this government is to take legal action against everyone and stop the culture of disappearances and murders.
Regarding his disappearance, Salahuddin said, "I have already contacted the Disappearance Commission. On the night of March 10, 2015, armed men posing as law enforcement officers abducted me from a house in Uttara. After about 61 days, I was taken to another country. I have raised other issues with the Disappearance Commission, including the internal environment during the time I was detained."
It is worth noting that Salahuddin
Ahmed went missing from Uttara in the capital on March 10, 2015. About two months later, on May 11, the police found him in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. He was arrested on charges of entering India without valid documents and a case was filed under the Foreigners Act. He was acquitted in that case in 2018. However, he had to stay in India after the Indian government appealed against the verdict.
Following this incident,
Salahuddin's family members and political colleagues made various claims during his disappearance from 2015 to 2018, and Salahuddin himself submitted a report on the matter to the international community.
